The Odyssey is about Odysseus’s long journey home after the Trojan War. He faces many dangers, like monsters and angry gods. After many years, he finally returns to Ithaca and reunites with his family.

The main message of Homer's Odyssey is the paramount importance of persevering through challenges to achieve nostos (homecoming), driven by loyalty, wit, and divine order. It emphasizes that intelligence and endurance (cunning) triumph over brute strength

People's expectations:

• A "Proper" Mythological Adaptation: Viewers are hoping for a faithful, fantasy-driven adaptation that includes the gods (Athena, Poseidon) and monsters (Cyclops, Sirens) rather than a grounded, realistic interpretation, according to a Facebook post by TheGoodFilms
•  Expectations are high for a deep exploration of, as This Final Scene notes, the, “longing for home,” and the, “impact of time on memory,” rather than just a simple action movie. 
• Some critics judge: I lost all interest when I saw the cast. Literally everyone is famous and established in one way or the other. I wish they had given the opportunity to some unknown actors instead it will feel like a holywood circus.
