Wicked: For Good

After last year's Wicked (2024), there is going to be a sequel, "Wicked: For Good," on November 21, 2025. This second movie will finish the story that the first film started, showing what happens to Elphaba and Glinda after Elphaba is accused as the "Wicked Witch" and Glinda becomes the "Good Witch." While the first movie focuses more on how Elphaba and Glinda first met each other at the Shiz University and went from rival to friends, the sequal will be more emotional and show deeper about the two characters. It will deal with all the chaos and lies spread in Oz, and how their friendship will overcome it. The title, "Wicked: For Good" comes from a famous song "For Good" from the Broadway musical.

Wicked originally started as a Broadway musical in New York. Wicked is the prequel (a "before" story) of The Wizard of Oz and shows how the Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) and Glinda the Good Witch met when they were younger. The first movie Wicked (2024) is based on the first half of that musical, and the new movie Wicked: For Good will finish the story. If you have heard of The Wizard of Oz, this movie will show the story before Dorothy came to Oz, and how the Wicked Witch and Glinda the Good Witch became who they are.

My personal opinion (no spoilers):
I think this movie was beautifully made; it is definitely more emotional than the first movie. The visuals, music, and emotions all felt very strong. Each of the character developments stood out to me the most, and I really liked how the story made the relationship between the two witches feel more meaningful. It is really interesting to see the events of Oz from a completely different point of view compared to The Wizard of Oz, where the Wicked Witch is only portrayed as the villain.
