Harvard Political Essay:

Recently, the school participated in an advanced essay competition hosted by the University of Harvard based on students’ analysis on current politics related topics. The CCA requires an inquisitive mind for the argumentative essays, thorough research so one’s essay is not plagiarized, and a keen sense of intuition for controversial topics. 

Students are divided into two groups, the middle school group and the high school group. Throughout the process, it would be conducive for students to establish team cooperation and reinforce one’s writing ability. Moreover, winning top places shows strong capability of one’s writing and can be beneficial for students when they apply to colleges. It plays a role as extra-curricular to impress colleges. In my perspective, being involved in such competitions engenders students’ comprehension ability.

Students in the Harvard Political Competition tend to choose the topic The Future of Higher Education because it discusses the conflict between the Trump Administration and Institutions like Harvard.  Most students struggle on strict written restrictions, namely, AP-Style or Associated Press Style.

Throughout the whole competition, students broadened their sight on recent life events and gained accomplishment as they finish their essay. In conclusion, the CCA was meaningful and we are looking forward for another essay competition!
